Walking into a church service for the first time may feel strange, awkward, uncomfortable, and exhausting, but it can also be rewarding. So, whether you are a visitor, a newcomer to town, or have not attended a church service in a while, here is a list of questions and responses to help walk you through a typical Sunday worship service.

Anywhere you like! We have ample parking on the property. We are located across from the Town Green at the corner of Main Street and Gibbs Avenue in Wareham. We have a handicapped ramp on the Main Street side of the building.

We are part of the United Church of Christ, a mainline Protestant denomination [similar to Presbyterians, American Baptists, and Disciples of Christ] with more than 800,000 members across the United States. Click here for more information. Our church affiliated with the United Church of Christ in the 1970s. You do not have to belong to the denomination to attend worship or to participate in any events at the church . Many people in our congregation come from other faith traditions [Roman Catholics, Methodists, Lutherans, etc.]. You could say we are like a patchwork quilt, knitted together by the grace of God and our love of Jesus.

You will find a strong community of friends to laugh, grow, and serve with. As a guest, we encourage you to fill out the “Keep in Touch Card” in the seat back pocket and give it to the Usher. Leaving your contact information helps us to keep in touch with you.

No, dressing up is not required to worship at FCC Wareham. Some wear jeans, others wear their “Sunday best,” and most are somewhere in between. The best part about Sunday morning is showing to worship God.

Our service begins at 10:00 AM and lasts about an hour.

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. Come in, engage in worship, stay for the Coffee Hour after the service, and meet your new friends.

We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of every month, and practice an Open Table, where everyone is welcome to participate.
